Lake Farmhouse Including Adjoining Outbuilding To East

Lake Farmhouse, along with an adjoining outbuilding to the east, dates from around the 16th century and was refenestrated in the early 17th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a slate roof with gabled ends, while the roof of the east end has a lower pitch and is covered with asbestos slates. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has five windows, including two three-light and one four-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows, with the remainder being 19th century and modern casements. There is a modern door on the right side leading to a cross passage, which has a modern lean-to porch. The building has rebuilt brick ridge and end chimney stacks, and a stair projection at the rear. Inside, there is a timber screen at the higher end, which is boarded over and likely of the plank and muntin type. It is said that there was once an arched doorway from the hall to the cross passage. The interior may also feature an inserted floor with stopped chamfered ceiling beams. The adjoining outbuilding to the east has a modern garage door and external stairs leading to a loft door, and is constructed of stone rubble with a corrugated iron roof.
