Description

This granary, located approximately 5 metres north of Edge Barton Manor, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble and features a thatched roof. The granary is a small, single-storey rectangular building positioned down the hillslope on a north-south axis. The west side has a doorway at the uphill end, with a large window or loading hatch on each side and another at the south end, all of which are shuttered. The roof is hipped at both ends and is supported by roughly-finished A-frame trusses, which have spiked lap-jointed collars and X-apexes.
