Description
The Cottage is a house that was formerly divided into two cottages, dating from the early to mid-17th century. It is constructed of pilastered cob and features a thatched roof with gabled ends. The building has two storeys and a four-window range, with sash windows that include glazing bars. There are two doorways: the left-hand one has a fielded panel door, while the right-hand doorway leads to a cross passage and features a late 19th-century glazed door. Brick chimney stacks are located at the ridge and gable end of the house. Inside, there are stopped and chamfered ceiling beams, and a fireplace with chamfered stone jambs and a chamfered bressummer. A similar but smaller fireplace can be found on the first floor.
