Description

Gammons Hill Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 16th century. It is constructed of roughcast stone rubble and features an asbestos slate roof with gabled and half-hipped ends. The building has two storeys and a four-window range, with 19th-century three-light casements that include glazing bars. There is an off-centre doorway leading to a cross passage, which is sheltered by a late 19th-century glazed porch. The farmhouse has rendered chimney stacks located at the ridge and gable ends, and a rear wing that forms an L-shaped plan.

Inside, the farmhouse boasts jointed cruck trusses and plank and muntin screens in the cross passage, one of which has a four-centred arch doorway. There is an inserted floor with stopped and chamfered ceiling beams, as well as open fireplaces that feature chamfered bressummers.
