Description
This is an 18th-century headstone located approximately 2 metres south-east of the vestry of the Church of St Mary in Upottery. It is made of hamstone and stands upright at about 1.2 metres high. The headstone features a shaped top that is carved with scrolls and a winged cherub's head. Below the head, the panel is framed with carved scrolled foliage. The inscription is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, but it is so faint that it is illegible except in perfect lighting conditions.
