Description

The premises of Surridge Dawson and Co Ltd is a late 18th century house constructed from stone rubble with a painted brick front and an ashlar plinth. It features a steeply pitched slate roof with stone coped gable ends. The building is two storeys high with an attic and consists of three bays. It has tripartite sash windows with glazing bars set in slightly bowed bays supported by console brackets. The central first-floor window is a round-arched sash with glazing bars. The central doorway is adorned with fluted pilasters, an entablature, and panelled reveals, leading to double doors. There is a decorative band at the first-floor level and brick chimney stacks located at the gable ends.
