Description

The three Eddolls monuments are located in the churchyard about 7 meters south-southwest of the porch of the Church of St Peter. These are three chest tombs arranged in a line, dating from the 17th century to the mid-18th century, constructed from ashlar stone.

The first monument, dedicated to Edward Baker Eddolls, dates from the mid to late 18th century. It features a moulded base and cornice, with a pulvinated frieze that is broken forward over a fielded centre, angle piers, and two shield plaques on each side. The inscription notes that Edward Baker Eddolls died in 1771.

The second monument commemorates Mary and Edward Eddolls and dates from the early to mid-18th century. It also has a moulded base and cornice, with a pulvinated frieze broken forward over a fielded centre and angle piers, and two circular plaques on each side. The inscriptions indicate that Mary died in 1724 and Edward died in 1742.

The third monument is dedicated to Edward Eddolles and dates from the late 17th century. It features a moulded capstone and has two sunk panels on each side and one on each end. The inscription states that Edward Eddolles died in 1687.
