Description
Idover Demesne Farmhouse is a farmhouse that underwent early 19th-century remodelling of an earlier building. It features roughcast walls with flush ashlar dressings and a stone slate roof with end stacks. The building is two storeys high and has a three-window front range, characterized by thin ashlar angle strips and plain surrounds around the openings. On either side of the central entrance, there are tripartite 4:12:4-pane sash windows, with a 12-pane sash window above the door, which has an overlight. The entrance is marked by a reused studded oak plank door. At the rear, there is a parallel range with an outside stack on the north end. Inside, the front range contains a late 16th or 17th-century Tudor-arched fireplace with a moulded shelf supported by scroll brackets. The rear range features a mid-18th-century closed string staircase.
