Description

76 and 78 High Street are a pair of houses dating from the early 19th century, which were remodeled from an earlier structure. They feature coursed limestone dressings, a brick party wall stack, and a stone slate roof. The houses have a double-depth plan and are two stories tall, each with a two-window range. The ground-floor openings have timber lintels and recessed doorways set toward the ends. Number 76 has a plank door, a horned 3/3-pane ground-floor sash, and casements beneath the wall plate. Number 78 includes a plinth, a 20th-century half-glazed door, an 8/8-pane ground-floor sash, and 2/2-pane sashes on the first floor, all with lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
