Description

No. 85 High Street is a house that underwent mid to early 19th century remodelling of an earlier structure. It is built from limestone rubble with brick dressings and features a left-hand gable stack, topped with a stone slate roof. The house has a single-depth plan and includes a rear single-room addition. It stands two storeys tall and has a two-window range. The ground floor features a left-hand half-glazed door with segmental-arched brick heads, along with three 3/3-pane sash windows. Similar sash windows are located beneath the eaves. The current doorway is positioned to the left of the original doorway. At the back, there is a gabled range with a lateral stack. The interior has not been inspected.
