Description

Blue Vein Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse constructed from rubble stone, featuring a Bridgwater tile roof and coped gables. The building has one and a half storeys. It includes recessed ovolo-moulded mullion windows with hoodmoulds. At the left end, there is a section with a lower pitched roof, coped gables, end wall stacks, and one ground floor three-light window. To the right, there is a straight joint and a window range that includes a coped dormer gable and three-light windows on each floor. A 20th-century porch is located to the right of the ground floor, which has a reset two-light window. There is coping and a ridge stack to the right, followed by a two-window range that slightly projects. Above the three-light windows on each floor, there is a coped dormer gable, along with a smaller dormer gable featuring a two-light window above a single light. A straight joint is present to the right, with a ridge stack above and an end section that is built out to the front, which includes a 20th-century three-light window, a coped east gable, and paired small openings in the gable apex. The rear of the farmhouse has a dormer gable with a two-light window, a similar window below in the centre section, and another dormer gable with a two-light window in the left section.
