Description
No. 11 Devizes Road is a cottage from the Bowood estate, built with squared ironstone rubble and a thatched roof, featuring a west end stack. This single storey and attic cottage is designed in a picturesque L-plan style. The main range has a gable end facing the road with a half-hipped east gable, and there are two-light windows on each floor along with a pale stone flush course at the first floor level. To the right is a gabled wing that has a door connecting to the main range and another door at the north end. The south side includes two leaded two-light windows and a single storey addition with Bridgwater tiles to the west. The thatched cottages of Sandy Lane represent an excellent example of an estate village in the picturesque style.
