Description
Horsepride Well is a mid-18th century cottage pair that has been converted into one house. It is constructed from ironstone rubble and features a thatched roof with ridge stacks, which were originally located on the end walls but have since been extended slightly at both ends. The building is two storeys high and has leaded casement windows with iron opening lights.
The cottage on the right is double-fronted, displaying two pairs of casements under an eyebrow above, and a pair and a triple casement below, flanking the door. There is a likely 20th-century extension to the right. The cottage on the left has an upper casement pair under an eyebrow, a ground floor triple casement, and a door to the right. Additionally, there is a low west end addition made of red brick, with thatch carried down over it, which contains some original casements. This building is marked on the J. Powell estate map of 1763.
