Description
Nos 5 to 7 Estcourt Street are early 19th century buildings that stand three storeys high with a basement. They are constructed of stone on a projecting plinth, featuring a moulded cornice and a blocking course. The roofs are half hipped, with Nos 5 and 6 covered in slate and No 7 in pantiles.
Nos 5 and 6 have three windows on the upper floors and two windows on the ground floor, which have rectangular shutter recesses but no shutters. The windows are recessed sashes with intact glazing bars. There is a central yard entry with a five-centred arch and a keystone.
No 7, which is an extension to the right, is at a different angle to follow the road line but maintains the same design and height. It was originally painted stone but is now rough cast. It has two narrow recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars on the upper floors and one ground floor window with an architrave frame. The ground floor also features a recessed door with six flush panels, two of which are glazed, set in an architrave surround with a flat hood supported by cut brackets. There are three basement windows with pavement grilles.
Nos 5, 6, and 7, along with Nos 1, 2, 3, 4, and 4A, are prominently positioned and can be seen across Devizes Green, approached from Southbroom Road.
