Description
Alderton Grove Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1700. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone slate roof with end stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a five-window range of timber cross-windows that have timber lintels. The central door is topped with an overlight and is set within a broad porch, likely designed by J. Thomson between 1830 and 1840. This porch has a depressed-arched entry with a keystone and is flanked by arched lights. The farmhouse also includes two hipped dormers, rendered end walls, and a catslide rear roof that leads to a low parallel rear range.
