Description

The Bottle Kiln at The Potteries is a Grade II listed structure, built around 1913. It is a tall, red brick bottle-shaped oven that features a white brick chequer pattern at the top lip. Inside, the kiln has a domed fire-brick lined interior and includes an iron-framed south doorway marked 'T. Willett & Co Ltd, Burslem'. There are also eight low arched fire-openings around the base. This kiln is noted to be the last of three that were once on the site and has never been fired. It is possibly the only example of its kind in Wiltshire.
