Description
Norton House is a detached house dating from the mid-18th century. It is built of Flemish bond brick with stone quoins and features a tiled roof with gable end brick stacks. The house is two stories high and has two windows. The central entrance consists of a planked door set within an ovolo moulded architrave, topped by a flat stone hood supported by brackets. On either side of the door are 3-light beaded mullioned casements. There is a dentil brick plat band at the first floor level, which has two 2-light beaded mullioned casements. The eaves are stepped with a brick course.
To the left side of the house, there is a lean-to addition that includes a 3-light fixed window. At the rear left, there is a parallel range that features 2-light casements and an axial brick stack, along with a lean-to extension on the right side. Inside, the house has chamfered beams, an open fireplace with a timber lintel on brick jambs in the west stack, planked doors, and blocked bread ovens in the rear range.
