Description

This late 18th-century house and shop stands on Corsham High Street. It is constructed of ashlar stone and has a hipped roof covered in stone tiles, with a stack at the north end. The building is three storeys high and has a two-window frontage, topped with a coved cornice and parapet. The first and second floor windows are set within raised, bead-moulded surrounds. The first floor windows are 12-pane sashes, and the second floor windows are paired 12-pane sashes. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front featuring an ashlar plinth, a four-pane shop window, and a recessed entrance door to the right. The rear elevation is also of ashlar, with horizontal bands above the upper floors and a continuing parapet. It features paired 12-pane sashes on the second floor, a paired window on the first floor, and a single 12-pane window (with one blank). The ground floor rear is obscured by later additions.
