Description

This mid-19th century house and shop stands on an earlier core, constructed from ashlar with a stone tiled roof, coped gables, and end wall stacks. It is two storeys and has an attic space, featuring two hipped dormers. The front elevation has a three-window arrangement, marked by a moulded string course. The first floor incorporates rusticated quoins, a moulded frieze, cornice, and parapet. Upper sash windows have margin lights and raised moulded surrounds, with sills resting on brackets that rise from a raised band over the moulded stringcourse. The ground floor now contains two 20th-century shop windows on each side of the central doorway, with ashlar piers dividing them and at the angles where pilasters with moulded caps once stood. A single window is present on each floor of the south return wall.
