Description
No. 6 High Street is a house dating from the late 17th century, constructed of painted rubble stone with a stone tile roof and a coped gable on the south side. The building is two-and-a-half storeys tall and features a double front with two coped dormer gables. On the upper floor, there are two 2-light recessed ovolo-moulded mullion windows with hoodmoulds. The first floor has two pairs of 12-pane sash windows set in 18th-century raised bead-moulded surrounds, each with moulded cornices above. The ground floor contains two small pairs of 8-pane sash windows in flush unmoulded surrounds, and there is a blocked central door with a continuous hoodmould above. The south end wall displays flush quoins and features a 20th-century projecting shop window with a door to the right and an overall fascia. At the rear, there is a gabled wing with an east-facing 2-light leaded ovolo-moulded attic window with a hoodmould. To the left at half level, there are ovolo-moulded single lights over the first and ground floors, and a 3-light ovolo-moulded window with a hoodmould on the first floor to the right, above a ground floor hoodmould over an 18th-century window.
