Description

Priory Cottage is a mid-17th century detached cottage, with later 19th and 20th century extensions to the rear. It is constructed of dressed limestone and has a tiled roof, with an axial brick stack. The cottage is two storeys high and has three windows. A central baffle entry is present. A 20th century timber porch and door are located to the right of the centre. To the right of the door is a 3-light casement inserted into a former mullioned casement, complete with a hoodmould. To the left of the door is a 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement, also with a hoodmould. The first floor features two 3-light casements and one single casement, with a raking buttress to the left of the doorway. The right return has 20th century French windows. The rear has a 19th century extension with a hipped tiled roof, and a 20th century extension with a flat roof. Inside, the cottage retains chamfered beams.
