Description

Coombe Hollow is an early 18th-century detached cottage situated in Donhead St. Mary. The cottage is constructed of dressed limestone, with a half-hipped thatched roof and gable end brick stacks. The gabled front faces the road, and the building is two storeys and an attic, featuring a three-window frontage. A probably 20th-century gabled stone porch with a planked door is centrally located. The ground floor has two steel casement windows to the right and one to the left. The first floor has three two-light wooden casements. Two dormers contain two-light casements each. The left return has an attached 20th-century conservatory and a fixed window to the attic. The right return has a fixed attic window. A rear outshut is located to the right, and a lean-to garage is on the left. The interior is said to include an open fireplace with a timber lintel on stone jambs and chamfered beams.
