Description

Eastside is a cottage located at the end of a row on Candown Road in Tilshead, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of painted brick and cob, topped with a thatched roof and brick stacks. The building is single-storey with an attic and features two windows on the front. There is a 20th-century door with fielded panels, flanked by two-light casement windows. The attic contains two additional two-light casements. The left side of the cottage reveals exposed timber framing in the gable, showcasing a braced tie-beam and collar roof. At the rear, there is a central cylindrical projecting stair turret with one small fixed window; the ground floor has one two-light casement, and the attic has one casement. Attached to the right is a 20th-century flat-roofed single-storey extension. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey in November 1984.
