Description

Collinwood Cottage and Number 903 High Street are semi-detached cottages dating from the mid-17th century, with an additional cottage added to the rear in the late 17th century. The buildings are constructed of painted flint and brick with timber-framing and feature a thatched roof that is half-hipped to the right, along with a central brick stack. The structure is T-shaped, single-storey with an attic, and has two windows.

The front entrance on the right includes a four-panelled door with a thatched canopy. To the left, there is one three-light casement window and one two-light casement window. The attic features one three-light casement window. The right side of the building has exposed timber-framing, a planked door, and one two-light casement window to the left, with an attic window that is also a two-light casement. The left side has a recessed chamfered mullioned window with a hoodmould in the attic.

The rear two-storey wing is a separate cottage, which includes one two-light casement window on the ground floor and a three-light casement window on the first floor, along with a 20th-century lean-to extension. Inside the front cottage, there are deeply chamfered beams with splayed stops and an open fireplace in the kitchen featuring an arched lintel. The rear cottage has chamfered beams with ogee stops.
