Description
South Manor is a detached cottage located on the south side of Tilshead High Street. It dates from the early 17th century, with rebuilding in the mid-19th century and remodelling in the 20th century. The exterior features flint and limestone bands, a single Roman tiled roof, and gable-end brick stacks. The entrance is located in a lean-to on the right side of the building.
The cottage has a two-storey, two-window front facing the street, with three-light and four-light ovolo-mullioned windows that have hoodmoulds. To the right, there is a small square blocked window. The first floor features two 2-light 19th-century casements. On the right side, there is a planked door and a 2-light casement window leading to a brick extension built in English garden wall bond. The left side has one glazed door and an attached greenhouse. At the rear, there are two 2-light 19th-century casements on both the ground and first floors. Attached to the rear left are a range of single-storey rendered brick extensions, which also have Roman tiled roofs and 2-light casements. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to contain mostly 19th and 20th-century fittings.
