Two Monuments About 9 Metres West Of South Aisle Of Church Of St Cyriac

Two chest tombs, located about 9 meters west of the south aisle of the Church of St Cyriac, date from the 18th century and are made of ashlar. The first tomb, from the mid-18th century, features an oval plaque on the north side adorned with foliage scrolls on each side, along with angle piers that have drapery drops. The south side has two shield plaques separated by piers with foliate decoration and shield end plaques. It also has a moulded base and cornice, and a pulvinated frieze. The second tomb, from the late 18th century, has low relief carved slab sides, baluster corners, and a moulded base and cornice. Its fluted frieze is decorated with rosettes. The north side displays a draped plaque flanked by floral drops, inscribed to C. Pettifor, who died around 1823. The south side features an oval plaque in a laurel frame, flanked by two urns.
