Description

LACOCK CHURCH STREET ST 9168 (south side) 4/61 Two monuments in churchyard by path south of south transept of Church of St Cyriac GV II

Two chest tombs, C17 and C18, ashlar. From west: a) Unidentified memorial, early C18 with 2 raised oval plaques each side, scrolled centre and angle piers, moulded base and heavy capstone.

b) Davis memorial, early to mid C17 wth 2 sunk panels each side and sunk end panels with raised shields. North side inscriptions eroded but date 1618 visible. Said to commemorate Margaret Davis d 1619 and William Davis d 1637/8 of Bewley Court.
