Description

This is a barn located to the west of Byam's Farmhouse, dating from the early 18th century. It is built of coursed rubble with wooden lintels and features a gabled stone slate roof. The barn has a three-bay plan with a central midstrey. There are two-leaf plank doors leading to the midstrey, with a 2-light opening above a large lintel. Lean-to sheds are attached to either side, creating catslides with the main roof. To the right, there is an attached cowbyre range with circular piers, and to the left, there is a hayloft with a stable below. Inside, the barn has a butt-purlin, collar, and tie beam roof structure, although some of the timbers have been renewed.
