Description
Three adjoining cottages, likely dating to around 1854-6, were probably designed by Lewis Vulliamy as part of the relocation and reconstruction of Westonbirt Village in preparation for Westonbirt House. The cottages were commissioned by Robert Stayner Holford. They are built of coursed stone with a stone slate roof and stone end and ridge stacks. The cottages form a long, single range with No. 15 on the left end, creating a T-shape with a rear wing and a projecting front gable. They are single storey with an attic. Four gables of varying sizes, including the projecting wing, feature scattered single or two-light stone mullion windows with leaded casements, each protected by a square hoodmould. A raking porch is located in the corner to the left of No. 15, while steep, projecting gabled porches are present at Nos. 17 and 19, all with chamfered Tudor arches and some original plank doors. No. 19, on the right-hand side, incorporates a later small canted bay, mirroring the original design of No. 11. Although slightly altered, the cottages are significant as part of the rebuilt village group, which includes Nos. 7-29 (odd).
