Description
Vancelette's Farmhouse is a farmhouse with a core range dating from the 17th century, featuring early 19th century and late 19th century additions. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with flush rusticated dressed stone quoins, stone dressings, and gabled stone slate roofs that include three stone stacks, with the two on the left being paired. The farmhouse has an L-shaped plan, with the core range at the angle, the early 19th century range to the right, and the late 19th century range at right angles to the left. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a three-window west front. The windows on the ground and first floors to the right are two-light chamfered mullions with small pane casements, while the remaining windows are single, two, and three-light casements, with those in the attic located under the gables. There is a central gabled porch adorned with ball and obelisk finials, featuring a part glazed plank door. The late 19th century range to the left includes stables and loose boxes.
