Description
The farmyard complex located to the northeast of Roundway Hospital, which was formerly known as the Wiltshire County Pauper Lunatic Asylum, dates back to 1851. It consists of a cottage along with attached stables and outbuildings. The structure is built from stone rubble, featuring dressed stone levelling courses, quoins, and window dressings on the cottage. The roofs are pitched and slated, with the cottage showcasing two corniced stone chimney stacks. The cottage is two storeys high and has two windows. The entrance is positioned to the right and features an elliptical arched head, while the casement windows have segmental heads. The left side of the cottage has a ground floor canted bay window. The stables and outbuildings are single storey and have red brick heads above their openings. The interiors have not been inspected.
