Description
Tabernacle Cottages, located on Church Street, are reconstructed memorial cottages built in 1938 in a Tudor vernacular style. They are one and a half storeys high and constructed from rubble with a stone tile roof, featuring two ashlar ridge chimneys. The cottages have four gabled half-dormers with shaped kneelers and finials, as well as two-light mullion windows. On the ground floor, there are two three-light and three two-light mullion windows, all with a common drip mold. The entrance includes two square-headed doorways with beaded plank doors, and there is a memorial stone in the center. The former Sunday School, known as the 'Institute', is located to the east. The Tabernacle United Reformed Church and its related structures form a group with Nos 24 to 26 (consecutive) and 2 and 3 Tabernacle Cottages.
