Description
Avonview Farmhouse is a farmhouse built between the early and late 19th century. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a Welsh slate roof with stone stacks that have dentilled cappings. The building is designed in an L-shape and has two stories with a five-window west front.
The central stone porch has double half-glazed doors, with 4-pane segmental-headed sash windows on either side. Flanking the porch are two-storey canted bays that contain sashes, while the first floor features round-arched sashes and pediments above the bays. A moulded cornice runs along the blocking course.
On the right side, there is a two-storey porch with a round-arched opening and a six-panelled door topped with a fanlight. There are also 4-pane sashes on either side of this porch, set in recessed round-headed panels. A sill band runs along the first floor, where there are 16-pane sashes, and a pediment is positioned above the sash window over the porch.
The rear of the farmhouse has a range attached to the right, featuring a pair of sashes on both the ground and first floors. There is also a gabled wing at the rear with additional sashes. Attached to the left side of the rear is a stable that has a planked door and lunettes, topped with a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
