Description
Thurles is a detached cottage built in the early 19th century, with some early 20th-century additions. The structure is made of coursed rubble stone and features a Bridgwater tiled roof, which has ashlar stacks on the left and at the rear. It is a single-storey building with an attic and has three windows. The central feature is a 20th-century gabled porch, flanked by two-light segmental-pointed casements on either side, which include margin glazing and fanlights. The first floor has three gabled half-dormers, each with 2-light segmental-pointed casements, margin glazing, fanlights, and cusped barge boards. The right side of the cottage has similar segmental-pointed casements. At the rear, there is an early 20th-century gabled wing with 2-light casements. A flat-roofed garage is located on the left side, but it is not of special interest. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in May 1987.
