Description
Fairfield Opportunity Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in 1764, as indicated by the datestone on the front, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. The structure is made of English garden wall bond brick and features a tiled front roof pitch, while the rear pitch is covered with Welsh slate. It has a two-storey design with a three-window front.
The central entrance consists of a 20th-century door set within a porch, framed by a beaded stone architrave. On either side of the door, there are tripartite 4-pane sash windows with a higher centre light, also in beaded architraves. The first floor features a central 4-pane sash window, which is framed by a beaded architrave and has the date incised into the lintel, along with tripartite sash windows with higher centre lights on either side, all within beaded architraves.
To the right of the main building, there is a single-storey outhouse. The left return has a 20th-century conservatory and French windows. At the rear, there is a two-storey extension from the 19th century, which has a 20th-century lean-to attached. The interior was not accessible during the survey conducted in June 1986.
