Description
The Church of the Immaculate Conception was built in 1865 by Charles Hansom. It features a stone rubble nave and chancel, and does not have a tower. The exterior includes buttresses between pointed windows that have two cusped lights, with decorated rolled hood moulds above them. There is a pointed doorway on the side, and above it is a crocketed niche containing a statue of Our Lady and Child. The interior is designed in a plain 13th-century style. The chancel was added in 1909 by A J Scoles and Raymond, and it includes an arcade for the south aisle built with chamfered pointed arches and a polygonal apse. A fine altarpiece with a fretted canopy for the tabernacle is also present.
