Description

This is a row of early 19th-century townhouses, numbered 1 to 5 Bath Road (also known as Trafalgar Place). The buildings are constructed of Bath stone. The ground floor has a rusticated appearance and a projecting plinth. Strings are present at the first and second floor levels of number 2, and at the first floor and second floor sill levels of numbers 3, 4, and 5. Number 2 features projecting corner sections with strings and a cornice that curves around, culminating in a small cornice and blocking course, topped by a nipped slate roof. The remaining houses have wide eaves and slate roofs. Number 2 has two windows on each upper floor, with four panes of differing sizes. The ground floor features a central window and a six-panel door with a radiating and concentric fanlight to the right. A lower, three-story extension, mirroring the design of number 2, is located to the left, containing a single window. Numbers 3, 4, and 5 are situated to the right. Each of these has two windows to the upper floors, and on the ground floor a single window and a recessed four-panel door of a flush design, accompanied by a rectangular fanlight of rectangular glazing. All windows are four panes wide, decreasing in size on each successive floor.
