Description
The Red House is a late 18th-century building located on Bath Road. It is a tall square structure with three storeys and a basement, constructed of brick featuring vitreous headers and resting on a stone base. The building has stone strings at the first and second floor levels, a moulded stone cornice, and a brick parapet with moulded stone coping.
The second floor has three windows, one of which is false, while the first floor has three windows, with the central window positioned at half landing level. The ground floor features two windows, and all windows have stone key blocks. There is a small two-light window in the basement.
The plain stone porch, dating from around 1840, consists of two segmental arched openings on plain piers, topped with a band, a small cornice, and a blocking course. The entrance includes a six-panel flush door with an architrave surround. The Red House is set back from the road in a large garden.
