Description

The boundary walls, gates, and gate piers of numbers 27 and 27A on Northgate Street date from the 19th century. The stone rubble wall features dressed capping and encloses the property at the rear and along the canal towpath. There is a low wall facing the street that was originally topped with railings. The structure includes gateways at either end and in the center, with square section panelled stone piers that have Soanian caps. The gates are made with thin iron posts adorned with anthemion cresting, spearhead rails, and dog rails.
