Description
Number 7 on High Street is an 18th-century building that stands two stories high with an attic. It is finished in stucco and features rusticated quoins, a moulded and bracketed string course at the first-floor cill level (which is hidden by the shop front), a moulded cornice, a high parapet, and coping. The roof is a mansard style covered with slate and includes three dormers. On the first floor, there are two windows on either side of a central Palladian window, all adorned with moulded architraves. The Palladian window has a keystone and Gothic glazing in the centre light. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front. This building is part of a group that includes numbers 1 to 12, the Town Hall, numbers 131 to 144, and Midland Bank.
