Description
The Green Dragon Public House is a late 18th-century building located on the south side of High Street. It is three stories tall, constructed of brick with a stucco string course at the second-floor cill level. The building features flat eaves and a slate roof. The upper floors have three windows adorned with stucco keystones. On the ground floor, there are two angular bays flanking a wide six-panel central door that is topped with a rectangular fanlight. At the back, there is a 16th-century wing made of timber frame with colour-washed brick infill and an old tile roof, which includes irregular casements and doors. The Green Dragon Public House is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 12, the Town Hall, and Nos 131 to 144, as well as Midland Bank.
