Description

No 17 on the High Street, built shortly before 1859, originally served as a Corn Exchange commissioned by the Marquess of Ailesbury. The building is rendered and consists of two storeys. It features a band and a moulded eaves cornice, with a parapet that masks the roof. On the first floor, there are four blind panels with cills. The ground floor has an arcade of four depressed arches, each with keystones and moulded imposts. The left arch opens to a yard, while the other three are fitted with 20th-century glazing and glazing bars.
