Description
No 137 on High Street is a 4-storey building from the 16th century that has been altered in the 18th century. The exterior features tile hanging with shaped tiles and an old tile roof. It has a single gabled front with curved and moulded barge boards. On the third floor, there is one window, while the first and second floors feature a two-storey angular bay window with a Palladian window at the first-floor level. The ground floor has a 19th-century shop front, which is under a pent roof supported by Doric columns. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 131 to 144 and the Midland Bank, alongside the Town Hall and Nos 1 to 12 opposite.
