Description
The Parish Room is an outbuilding to the Hungerford Almshouses, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone and features a stone-tiled roof with moulded coping at the gables. The west front, facing the road, includes two dormer gables. To the left, there is a two-light recessed chamfered mullion window with a hoodmould above a similar ground floor window. To the right, a single flush cyma-moulded light is situated above a door that has a flush moulded surround, both also with hoodmoulds. There are two ventilation loops on each side of the door.
The north end wall has a three-light recessed chamfered window with a hood on each floor, with the lower window located within a stone-tiled lean-to that has an elliptical arched doorway at the east end. The east front features a central chimney gable with diagonal shafts, flanked by dormer gables. To the right gable, there is a two-light recessed chamfered mullion window with a hoodmould above an elliptical arched doorway and a three-light window, both under a stepped hoodmould. On the ground floor to the left, there are two elliptical-arched doorways, one of which has an oak plank door, and a two-light window to the right, all under a hoodmould. Double doors are located to the left.
