Description
No 1 South Place is a 17th-century house constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof and an east end stack. The building has two storeys and features one window range. On the first floor, there is a three-light recessed hollow-moulded mullion window with a hoodmould, while the ground floor has a three-light flush chamfered mullion window, also with a hoodmould and a relieving arch. At the east end, there is a lean-to that includes a six-panel door set in a 17th-century moulded doorcase, which may have been reset. Additionally, there is a rear wing that has a stack at the north end.
