Description
The Pines is a row house dated 1691, as indicated by the datestone above the door. The building features a rendered west front and a rubble rear with stone dressings, topped by a gabled stone slate roof that has end stone stacks with brick caps. It has an L-shaped plan with a rear service range. The two-storey structure has a west front with two windows. The windows are 19th-century sashes with marginal glazing set in blocked surrounds. There is a central doorway that features a segmental open stone hood supported by carved brackets, and a six-panel door with the top two panels glazed. The property is enclosed by a low stone boundary wall to the garden, which includes ashlar gatepiers and 20th-century stone pine cones, along with a 19th-century wrought iron railed gate.
