Description
Ironside House is an end of terrace house dating from the late 18th century. It features colourwashed render and a gabled stone slate roof with end stone stacks that have their original bases. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a three-window west front. The windows are wide 4-pane 19th-century sashes set in deep reveals and have external shutters, with the central upper window having a cambered head. The central doorway is topped with a flat hood supported by carved brackets, and it has deep panelled reveals and a 6-panel door. There are three hipped dormers with 2-light casements along the eaves line. The garden boundary is marked by 19th-century wrought iron railings and square stone piers. Inside, there is an 18th-century staircase with a turned newel and square balusters, and a stone flagged central through passage.
