Description
This milestone, located 160 meters south of the village crossroads in Berwick Bassett, dates back to the 18th century. It is made of painted sarsen stone and features a half cylindrical shape with a top that is recessed for the pin of a bench mark. The inscription on the milestone has been overpainted, displaying the legend "SWINDON 9 DEVIZES 11 MILES."
