Description

Little Thatch is a 18th-century cottage located in Winterbourne Monkton. It is constructed from sarsen boulders and features a thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic and has a two-cell plan, consisting of a living space and a smaller service room. The entrance is marked by an off-centre boarded door with a glazed panel. The cottage has leaded casement windows with timber lintels and includes one flush half-dormer. A brick gable stack from the 18th century is present on the right side of the living room, while the roof is half-hipped on the left. There is a 20th-century flat roof extension on the right that extends to the rear. Overall, this cottage represents the typical vernacular style of the area and period, remaining largely unaffected by the modern extension.
