Description

The Rutty memorial is a chest tomb located about 34 metres from the southeast corner of the Lady Chapel of the Church of St. Michael in Melksham. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of limestone. The tomb features a plinth, oval flush panels with fluted spandrels and fluted corners, a grooved frieze adorned with rosettes, and a cornice on its weathered top. The earliest date inscribed on the memorial is 1821.
